The 2024 Shelby Super Snake Convertible is powered by a supercharged 5.0-liter V8 rated at 830 horsepower, with a custom Borla exhaust that makes itself heard well before you see the car. Upgraded suspension keeps all of it usable on the road. Exterior work includes a wide-body stance, a functional hood bulge and carbon fiber aero components. The interior has been reworked by Shelby, and the power top means none of it is hidden away.
Exterior
Finished in Race Red with dual white stripes running the full length of the car, it isn't going to be mistaken for a standard Mustang. The Shelby wide-body treatment brings flared arches, functional hood vents, a front splitter and a carbon fiber rear diffuser, Shelby decals across the rocker panels, Shelby lettering across the rear lip spoiler, and the Super Snake badge on the tail. The roll hoop spans the width of the car behind the front seats, adding both safety and providing extra rigidity for the chassis. 20" forged magnesium wheels finished in bronze wear Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires, with quad exhaust tips out back.
Interior
The cabin is finished in black leather, and Shelby's work shows up first in the seats, which use perforated suede inserts with patterned detailing and contrast stitching. Ford's twin curved digital displays carry over, framed by a perforated leather steering wheel with the pony badge front and center. At 132 miles on the odometer, everything in here is still as new as the day it left Shelby.
Under the Hood
Pop the hood and the first thing you'll notice is the 3.0-liter Whipple supercharger bolted to Ford's 5.0-liter Coyote V8, rated at 830 horsepower. Startup brings a sharp bark through the Borla exhaust before the engine settles into a deep idle. Power comes on immediately, with the Whipple pulling strong through the rev range rather than waiting on boost. Functional hood vents help evacuate heat from the engine bay under sustained use.
Performance
Putting 830 horsepower through the rear wheels took more than an engine package. The Shelby suspension system was retuned for sharper turn-in, working with the Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires and the functional aero package to keep the car planted as speed builds. Upgraded half shafts rated to 1,500 horsepower and hardened extended wheel studs handle the driveline loads, and Shelby's brake rotor upgrade takes care of stopping it.
Shelby American Pedigree
Just to be clear, the Super Snake isn’t some aftermarket kit that a random shop tacked on. The car is a genuine Shelby American build on the modern Mustang platform, carrying a legendary racing pedigree that goes back over 60 years to the tracks of the 1960s. The wide-body kit, the carbon aero, the tuned exhaust, and the extensive suspension work all came straight from the Shelby factory itself. With only 132 miles on the odometer, the car's story is completely fresh, basically waiting for the next owner to finally unleash it and start writing the first real chapter.
